2012 Hyundai Veloster

The 2012 Hyundai Veloster is a unique type of car. The Hyundai Veloster comes with a third door on the right side of the car, adding more room and an unusual style to the car. The Hyundai Veloster has the smallest Hyundai engine. What makes the Hyundai Veloster stand out are all the electronic features it has, such as:

A standard seven-inch multi-function touch-screen display with Pandora internet radio capability,
Gracenote display technology with voice recognition,
Virtual CD downloading,
AVI and mpeg video playback via USB,
video game console connectivity with a 115-volt outlet,
and Bluetooth hands-free phone system with voice recognition.

The Hyundai Veloster also has Blue Link functions such as, an automatic crash notification and assistance, emergency assistance and roadside assistance. Also with Blue Link, one can lock and unlock the car doors through just a telephone number. One can also use a social networking site to tell people where the Hyundai Veloster is located.

What is really cool for parents (though not for their children) is that Blue Link can inform the car owner when the Hyundai Veloster leaves a certain area and at what time, so not only can sometime find out if their car is gone, they can know what time it was gone (which can let parents know how late their child is up), and if the person driving the car was going faster than the preset speed. Who knew that your car is able to inform you that your kid didn’t listen to you.

With all these cool features, come 2012, you know what car you need to buy (hint: it starts with the letter V).

Gary Rome Hyundai extols Monson on beating Southwick in basketball (no offense Southwick). Sean Peyman and Zach West led the Mustangs to their fourth win in five games. Both Peyman and West scored three 3-pointers and scored 18 points each for Monson.

In other news, Belchertown (we didn’t pick the name) defeats the Pioneer Christians. The Orioles scored an easy victory against the Eagles, with Pat Gooden scoring 19 points for the Orioles.

This weekend marks the official launch of the 2011 Elantra on the AFC Championship game. Below is a note from our marketing dept. explaining our big presence during the third quarter of this weekend’s game. Hyundai is also mentioned in USA Today as one of three companies (Anheuser Busch and Audi are the other two) who are previewing/taking advantage of the AFC Championship to get a jump on their Super Bowl ads.

As the 2010 NFL Season draws nearer to a climatic close with its two championship games this weekend, HMA is flexing its muscle by overtaking the 3Q of the AFC Championship Game! Hyundai has sacked the 3Q for auto-exclusivity to showcase portions of the new campaign by airing two new Elantra spots entitled “Sheep” and “Childhood.” Sheep is a spot that shows how we have become complacent in the compact car segment by not demanding more from our vehicles and accepting what everyone is drives in the segment and the Childhood spot talks about how we have been conditioned from an early age to accept that all compact cars must be cramped. All of the “Snap Out of it” spots tout that the 40-MPG Elantra is here and ready to become a real game-changer in the category. September 2010 – Now in it’s twelfth year, Hope on Wheels continues to embody Gary Rome Hyundai’s commitment to helping kids fight cancer. Hope on Wheels has donated millions of dollars to children’s hospitals across the country. This year the Tour will award grants to doctors doing important childhood cancer research. September is National Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month so Gary Rome Hyundai wants to do everything possible to help the cause.

On Tuesday September 14th at 11:30am Hyundai Hope On Wheels will be awarding a $100,000 grant at the D’amour Cancer Center, 3350 Main Street, Springfield, Massachusetts. Gary Rome Hyundai is proud to be a part of this incredible Grant Presentation and hopes area media will attend and help spread the word of how Hope On Wheels is benefiting the Baystate Health Foundation.

Every time a car is sold this September at Gary Rome Hyundai, Gary will donate $100 to Hope on Wheels. Gary Rome Hyundai is part of the 780 nationwide dealerships working diligently to raise as many dollars as possible.

Brightside for Families and Children is a prestigious and comprehensive nonprofit child welfare, mental health and family support center offering contemporary services for children, adolescents and their families. Both Leslie and Pat have spent nights at the Holyoke Mall collecting toys this holiday season, and it all comes to a head at one final event on the afternoon of Monday, December 14th from 2PM to 4PM on at Gary Rome Hyundai in Holyoke. Urges Local Businesses Take the First Step to Help a Good Cause

Springfield, MA (June 29, 2009) – The Massachusetts Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) named Gary Rome chair of its 2009 Northampton Light The Night® Walk, the LLS annual fundraising event each fall to raise money for cancer research and patient services. Mr. Rome is hosting a complimentary summer BBQ at his Holyoke dealership on Saturday, July 11th at 11:00 a.m. for guests to learn how they can be involved.

LLS holds walks each fall in approximately 230 communities across the United States and Canada. Participants at the walks carry illuminated balloons – white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold to remember those who have died – to honor and commemorate lives touched by blood cancer. The Northampton Walk will take place on Sunday, September 13th at Look Memorial Park in Northampton, MA. Last year’s Northampton Light The Night Walk raised more than $55,000 and the Massachusetts Chapter raised more than $1,050,000 throughout its six walk locations.

“Light The Night is a great way to build a spirit of caring and cooperation among employees as they help others,” said Rome. “I am honored to serve as the chair to and look forward to encouraging commitment from local businesses and corporations.”

The funds raised through corporate and individual contributions help to find cures and better therapies for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to provide information, education and support for patients and their families.

February 19, 2009 – The Massachusetts Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society recently named Gary Rome of Gary Rome Hyundai in Holyoke chair of its 2009 Northampton Light The Night® Walk, the LLS annual fundraising event held each fall to raise money for cancer research and patient services.

LLS holds walks each fall in approximately 230 communities across the United States and Canada. Participants at the walks carry illuminated balloons – white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold for those walking “in memory” – to honor and commemorate lives touched by blood cancer. This year’s Northampton Light The Night Walk will take place on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Look Memorial Park in Northampton, MA.

“Light The Night is a great way to build a spirit of caring and cooperation among employees as they help others,” said Gary Rome “I am honored to serve as the chair and I look forward to encouraging commitment from local businesses and members of the community.”

Mr. Rome and his staff at Gary Rome Hyundai in Holyoke participated in the 2008 Northampton Light The Night event. The car dealership formed a team, captained by Cliff Dexheimer, General Sales Manager for the retail location, and raised over $5,000 for LLS. The team also brought along their Hyundai Hope on Wheels Santa Fe vehicle. In 1998, Hyundai Motorcars of America founded their own independent nonprofit called Hyundai Hope on Wheels, an organization dedicated to funding research of childhood cancers. In Northampton this past fall, Mr. Rome’s Hope on Wheels vehicle was ceremoniously decorated with handprints of local childhood cancer survivors in celebration of their strength, courage and perseverance. In addition to serving as Walk Chair in 2009, Mr. Rome will once again be bringing the Hope on Wheels vehicle to the event.

“Light The Night Walk gives hope to patients and their families and lets them know they are not alone in their battle against cancer,” said Sharon Klein, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Chapter.

Dear Friends,

Last night was the 2008 Light the Night Walk for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s Disease and myeloma. Thanks to all of you who contributed, it was their most successful walk ever! The Gary Rome Hyundai Team, with Gary matching every donation dollar for dollar, raised over $5000 to help find a cure for these dreaded diseases.

As part of the ceremony, we brought a Hyundai “Hope on Wheels” Santa Fe for children who have survived their battle against disease to hand paint their impressions on. Ten kids from ages 5 to 18 participated in the event and I’ve attached a picture of one of them.

Hyundai Hope On Wheels is Coming to Northampton!

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Hyundai and its dealers’ commitment to supporting the fight against pediatric cancer. Since its inception in 2004, Hyundai Hope on Wheels, an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has donated more than $10 million to institutions nationwide to help kids fight cancer. In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Hope on Wheels and Hyundai and its dealers have expanded the program to make a donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s network of doctors engaged in pediatric cancer research. The Hope on Wheels Tour will be represented at all 240 of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walks nationwide and will hold handprint ceremonies at select events.

Gary Rome Hyundai in Holyoke, MA has graciously teamed up with Hope On Wheels and will be attending the Northampton Light The Night Walk on Sunday, September 14th. Gary Rome Hyundai will be providing a Hope on Wheels Santa Fe vehicle for the event to be used during the handprint ceremony as well as to serve as a pace car for the Walk.

GARY ROME HYUNDAI ANNOUNCES A FREE CAR SEAT CLINIC

HOLYOKE, Mass. – Gary Rome of Gary Rome Hyundai announced a Car Seat Clinic for Wednesday July 25th, 2007. Gary Rome Hyundai in conjunction with Baystate Children’s Hospital and Safe Kids of Western Massachusetts invite area parents to learn how to prevent injuries to children in motor vehicle crashes.

All children ages 12 and under should be properly restrained in a back seat on every ride. Volunteers from Westfield, Pittsfield and South Hadley Police Departments and technicians from Greenfield Ambulance Service will be on hand for the free clinic.

Visitors will learn how to correctly restrain the child as well as learn the proper installation of any car seat. Massachusetts has traffic laws the average parent may not fully understand. This clinic will clearly educate parents about age requirements, exemptions, enforcement procedures and penalties.
